Description: The Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer's role is to design, install, administer and optimize company server, application, storage and virtualization environments to achieve high performance in the various business functions supported. These responsibilities span both traditional, on-premises architectures as well as public cloud and hybrid models across a multi-national enterprise. This senior engineer will help develop and execute on infrastructure strategies which are company aligned through regular interfacing with IT personnel as well as business partner teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

. Perform a wide range of system administration duties on core infrastructure, application, database, and other servers, including engineering, installation, break/fix troubleshooting, data protection and optimization

. Perform hands-on administration and/or collaborate on all current and future company cloud infrastructure engineering/operations tasking, to include transitioning, orchestration, and security within Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, etc.

. Serve as foremost expert in foundational technologies such as Active Directory, VMWare/Citrix, SAN storage, etc.

. Significant engineering and operational background with leading cloud providers such as

. Lead or assist in the data protection, disaster recovery and business continuance planning of a large, globally-distributed virtualization and storage infrastructure

. Regularly interface with, mentor, advise and collaborate with IT department personnel (eg, enterprise applications, software developers, help desk, Middleware administrators, etc.) and contribute toward organizational achievement of IT and business objectives

. Regularly interface with, advise and collaborate with business stakeholders (eg, product managers, business process owners, engineers and consultants)

. Serve as on-call infrastructure resource to troubleshoot operational issues (eg, unavailability of IT systems)

. Perform technical and cost analysis as necessary to evaluate, select, and recommend technologies that and support IT and business objectives

. Author architectural documentation and change requests in accordance with organizational policies and change management procedures

Requirements: Education/Experience:

. College degree or equivalent experience.

. Advanced knowledge in Windows Server and networking technologies such as Windows 2008/2012, Active Directory 2012, SQL Server and Exchange 2013/2016.

. Experience with industry-leading virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Citrix XenApp/Desktop and their integration with networking and storage platforms

. Advanced administrative know-how with multiple SAN platforms, preferable from Dell/EMC

. Advanced experience and knowledge in Scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript.

. Significant engineering and operational background with leading cloud providers such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure; experience migrating on-premises workloads to public cloud

. Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP and other TCP/IP protocols and services in support of traditional and new age infrastructures.

. Strong conceptual and working knowledge in the areas of network switching, routing, WAN connectivity, Firewalling and VPN

. Exceptional customer service skills, in addition to extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

. Strong expertise in data protection solutions for on-premises and cloud infrastructures spanning global geographies.

. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

. Understanding and application of ITIL principles and practices, and how they relate to the goals and objectives of the organization.

. Previous immersion in highly-regulated industry such as Healthcare; specific exposure to HIPAA, PCI, and SOX compliance.

. Professional IT infrastructure/cloud certifications desirable including MCSE, Server+, VCP, CCP and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
