ROLE SUMMARY The Ancillary Services Administrative Director oversees operations of all ancillary departments across the enterprise including outpatient, inpatient and post-acute departments. Leads transformational change for assigned departments. Responsible for planning, management, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of patient care. Develops effective relationships across all departments of the organization and connects department strategies to system-wide goal and initiatives. Responsible for 24-hour oversight/responsibility for ancillary departments. Supervision occurs directly and indirectly through the Department Directors. # ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates strong leadership, strategic and financial skills. Assesses daily operations, analyzes data and outcomes, and develops action plans to meet industry benchmark standards. Works with direct reports to plan, develop, and manage the ancillary department annual budgets.# Reviews and recommends annual measurable goals and objectives. Leads the implementation and execution of action plans toward goal achievement. Oversees and monitors department budgets, reviews capital equipment, and FTE requests and reviews budget variances on a regular basis. Assures that policies and practices and all are in compliance with CMS, Joint Commission and WA DOH guidelines.# Assures that subject matter experts are in place who provide oversight and compliance in specialty areas such as Pharmacy, Imaging and Nursing. Develops new market initiatives, assesses new markets, and analyzes business opportunities in collaboration with the VP of Business Development. On a daily basis, plans and collaborates with Department Directors to establish an overall staffing pattern which creates an environment for safe and effective patient care and serves the needs of the customers regarding timeliness and access.# Oversees the effective allocation of supplies and equipment to meet the daily needs of patients. Assures that all regulatory, quality and safety criteria are met.# Monitors compliance in on an on-going basis.# Implements corrective action plans to improve standards and outcomes. Utilizes standard dashboard templates to cascade data (lead and lag) to all areas of oversight. Works in collaboration with the Quality and Patient Experience Team to implement Memorial standard work around quality and patient experience. Identifies, leads and facilitates process improvement teams that focus on improving the customer experience and decrease waste. Works in collaboration with providers to identify, review and implement improvement plans. Other duties as assigned. # QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: Master#s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration required. Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead strategic analysis at the departmental and organizational level required. Demonstrated experience in facilitation, LEAN and/or project management. Ten years of progressive management experience preferred.# Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Clinical background in nursing, radiology, pharmacy or laboratory preferred. Washington State (DOH) licensure required for clinical specialty.
