Job Description

Global leader in food production is seeking an experienced electrical and automation engineer for their production facility in Solon, OH

This is a contract opportunity with the possibility of "contract to direct"

JOB SUMMARY: The position requires strong project management, leadership, communication and presentation skills. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of frozen/refrigerated food production equipment and processes as well a good understanding of USDA requirements of a food production facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Define, Analyze and Provide engineered solutions to specific technical problems to improve line efficiencies, reduce costs, or improve product quality.

2. Establish and maintain E&A Standards and Automation solutions for the supported businesses in alignment with the Nestle Engineering community.

3. Ability to train others on E&A standards/strategies for Basic Engineering Design, Process Control (HMI, PLC, Network) & MES.

4. Collaborate with key contacts at the center, market and factory level and relay information regarding Electricity, Instrumentation, MES as necessary.

5. Lead and/or support, the Digital in T&P experiments (pilots) projects execution in the markets, to assess Digital technologies value and build/increase knowledge.

6. Drive the scale-up of the successful digital experiments with the NPTCs, Businesses, Markets and partners, including building of the technical dossier, planning and progress review

7. Continuously develop the personal and team knowledge and skills in the area of Digital technologies and new methodologies (eg fast prototyping, lean start-up...), build eLearnings modules and provide trainings for the T&P community

8. Provide project implementation responsibility when transferring a project to the factories to insure complete and proper equipment start-up.

9. Control the project execution in terms of the technical concept, scope, budget schedule, design and industrialization to PMP skill level.

10. Responsible for the life-cycle management of Projects to PMP skill level.

11. Support the factories on any type of engineering matters, following priorities agreed upon by SBU and R&D Management.

12. Provide updated technical advice on new technologies and opportunities, as well as specialized technical advice on equipment evaluation and specific engineering problems.

13. Provide cross-functional technical assistance to all Factory, Division and Corporate Engineering.

14. Provide engineering design and/or technical support with regard to Safety and Environmental considerations.

15. Coordinate the use of R&D Technical Competencies and external engineering resources, as necessary to achieve the business needs.

16. Attend training programs on engineering matters for the Nestle Engineering Community at factory, corporate and industrial levels.

17. Support Hygienic Engineering objectives

19. Support Knowledge Management process in sharing lessons learned with your colleagues

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

A proactive independent person and is able to lead/manage/complete projects with minimal supervision. Creative and innovative with a sense of urgency and passion. There will be at least two formal meetings with the supervisor to evaluate the progress toward the goals. There is also the opportunity to work closely with other members of the team for guidance. There will be formal training sessions set up for all new comers as well as specific courses required as an R&D employee. The supervisor will set up a training plan, and it is the responsibility of the individual to execute the plan.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

This individual does not have any direct reports but should be able to lead/mentor team members in projects that he/she is leading.

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:

This position is in support and service of key brand partners

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

Engineering degree, Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

A minimum of ten 10 years of experience in electricity, automation and process controls (Manufacturing Execution System, PLC, HMI/SCADA, Network, etc)

Expert level knowledge in the current state of industrial electrical & automation specialty

Certified PMP is a plus, but skills to this level are required

Excellent Team leadership skills

Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to travel up to 40%

Good knowledge of practical engineering principles
