Job Description

The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) at ServiceNow isa customer-focused innovation group building intelligent softwareandsmartuser experiencesusing existing and emerging data and AI technologies to enable end-to-end, industry leading work experiences for customers.We are a group of researchers, applied scientists, engineers and product managers with a dual mission.We build and evolve the AI platform, and partner closely with business units to build products and end-to-end AI-powered work experiences for customers.In equal measure, we lay the foundations, research, experiment and de-risk AI technologies that unlock new work experiences in the future.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Analyze NLU models for intent/entity classification and suggest improvements working with internal and external customers
  • Analyze NLU core performance and suggest ways to optimize
  • Work on application data to figure out issues considering machine learning metrics
  • Work on taxonomies like hardware/software for optimal support of the IT domain
  • Implement tools for supporting the process of analyzing different sources eg in Python and Java
  • Label test data and analyze/clean given test data in terms of correctness
  • Work on high volume data received from customers on a daily basis, analyze them, and map them to appropriate library entities and create normalization rules
  • Research on new approaches for optimizing NLU application data and NLU systems
  • Provide support for different languages: English and at least one additional
  • Work with and optimize natural language grammars eg dependency grammars
  • Work with customers and help them optimize their NLU applications

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:
  • Master of Computer Science or Computer Linguistics
  • Ph.D. preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in NLU (language models, virtual agents/dialog systems, NL parsing, phonetics ...)
  • Excellent knowledge of English and one additional language; German preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven researching skills
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Experience working in a machine learning environment
  • Should have an eye for the details
  • Should be self-motivated and focused in challenging and monotonous work environments
  • Should have good problem-solving skills and should be innovative in approach to solutions
  • Should be able to adapt to a highly quality-oriented environment that moves at an aggressive pace
  • Working knowledge of ITAM tools like ServiceNow IT Asset Management is a big plus
  • Profound knowledge of Unix and at least one programming language (Java, Python preferred)
