Job Description

  • Strong customer service, documentation & communication skills.
  • Experience with Retail Store Technology (POS/Peripherals)
  • Ability to manage & prioritize multiple work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cohesively and effectively in a team environment with employees from all levels within an organization.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware such as: workstations, Servers & storage devices.
  • Knowledge of Chef, Jenkins, Linux and Active directory is a plus

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication (written, oral) skills.
  • Ability to understand complex information and summarize in a clear, concise fashion.
  • Good problem solving skills, ability to evaluate situation and prioritize factors in decision making
  • High attention to detail
  • Understanding of terminology and ability to share and communicate effectively within the group

  • Must be comfortable using Excel, Smartsheet, Sharepoint
  • Must be flexible and willing to work night shifts/graveyard when required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical issues at the server and application level, classification of problems including detailed problem definition, accurate impact assessment, identification and communication of workarounds for problems, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Responsible for remote troubleshooting and resolving technical escalations for DELL servers, IBM Point of Sale systems, peripherals (handheld scanners, EPSON Printers), iPads and networking issues.
  • Maintains ServiceNOW ticket queue to ensure all problem tickets assigned are resolved within SLA.
  • Performs methodical problem investigation techniques to resolve issues: in-depth problem analysis, detailed problem description, impact assessment, root cause analysis, identification of work-arounds, and recreate field problems in the lab.
  • Collaborates with third level engineering and development teams to isolate root cause as necessary and drive for solution implementation.
  • Independently researches and analyzes technical solutions to problems, provides solution recommendation (ie development, maintenance or improvements to systems standards or process) to meet project needs.
