Job Description:
The Instrumentation Designer is responsible for creating designs that meet the clients requirements and expectations while conforming to appropriate Codes and Standards for the associated project. Detailed designs and drawings include:
  • Instrumentation Index
  • I/O Index
  • Instrument Data Sheets
  • Loop Diagrams
  • Cause/Effect Diagrams
  • Conduit/cable schedules
  • 10+ years of experience in instrumentation design
  • Skilled and standard drafting techniques
  • Skilled in standard drafting techniques
  • Proficient in 2-D CAD, 3-D CAD, Plant Design, Revit and other Autodesk products
  • Working knowledge of process field instrumentation and process analyzers
  • Familiarity with typical I&C/I&E drawings (P&ID's, Loops, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of or familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication skills and ability to make decisions independently
  • Understanding of electrical and instrumentation design practices and regulations.
Education/Certification Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a Full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The Instrumentation and Controls Designer should be aware that the design process includes visiting clients facilities and performing physical work such as walking, standing, climbing ladders and lifting.
