Moog's Aircraft Group (AG) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Commercial Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog's invention enabled the technology for Fly-by-Wire flight controls used in today's modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product based solutions for much of the commercial aircraft market, both here in the US and Globally.

As Electrical Engineering Manager in Moog's Aircraft Group (AG), you will be primarily responsible for managing the control of all activities of the electrical engineering design (EE) department. This manger must have strong technical knowledge and experience in the technologies used in the EE department, be project and process orientated and be effective at managing the people within the department. The EE manager must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrate a pragmatic outlook and sound judgement, must accept accountability, have superior problem solving skills and be flexible to the every changing dynamics of the program and department needs.

The Manager of Electrical Engineering will demonstrate understanding of key project status and demonstrate the ability to guide team members accordingly plus -

. Engineering process development & compliance.

. Load and capacity planning & resource allocation.

. Development of cost estimates.

. Ability to monitor and control budgets/schedules.

. Accountable for engineering quality.

. Product assurance with respect to safety, airworthiness and design robustness.

. Develops workforce skillsets and competencies, and next generation leaders through succession planning and talent management

The function of electrical engineering manager requires coordination and collaboration across multiple geographically separated Moog sites and includes oversight of suppliers that are located worldwide, therefore strong communication and networking skills and an interest in travel are highly desired.

The tools and technology available for electrical and mechanical design are rapidly improving, therefore the electrical engineering manager will need to be able to understand and adapt new tools and technologies into Moog practices.

These are the skills you'll bring with you:

. BSEE degree required. MSEE, PhD or MBA degree desired

. 10 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of Electrical Engineering and/or System Engineering

. Familiarity or experience with a variety of engineering disciplines

. Strong technical background in electrical engineering technology

. Familiarity with the proposal process and proposal writing

. Comfortable briefing at all levels up and down from the position with the ability to tailor the technical discussion to the audience

. Effective at building teams and engendering loyalty from direct reports, supervisors and across the larger engineering organization

. Established skills at coaching, mentoring and growing personnel

. Strong interpersonal leadership skills with demonstrated pragmatism and sound judgement.

. Solid problem solving abilities and willing to be hands on in the occasional emergency

. Demonstrates accountability
