Position Summary The Director, US Medical Myeloid, AML Lead will report to the Executive Director, US Medical Myeloid, Disease lead. He/she will provide scientific/medical leadership for AML compounds in various stages of clinical development, as well as approved indications. He/she will lead design and implementation of an integrated medical plan within the US, in coordination with the WW Medical Affairs and other cross-functional teams. He/she will be responsible for the evaluation and support of investigator-sponsored trials and will represent US Medical Affairs as needed, serving as the disease area expert in strategic and tactical discussions and presentations with internal colleagues, as well as external experts and investigators. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership responsibilities: strategic and tactical + Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues to assist in generation and execution of therapeutic area strategy and tactics with appropriate oversight and use of resources. + Lead Medical affairs cross-functional meetings. + Lead advisory boards and/or steering committee meetings. + Represent US Medical Affairs as the disease area and assets expert in both internal and external venues including the US and Global cross-functional teams, clinical sub-teams, and advisory boards/steering committees. Represent BMS at professional meetings, congresses, and local symposia. 2. Deliverable responsibilities: strategic and tactical + Execute and track execution of cross-functional Medical Affairs tactics in US medical plans + Support the partnership with Scientific Communications on developing publication strategy, gap analysis, and key messages + Provide high quality scientific/clinical input and review of (as needed): + Disease strategy/plans + Abstracts, posters, slides, manuscripts + Educational materials in disease area including slides, webcasts, etc. + Cooperative group and IIT proposals + Clinical Development Plans (CDPs), Commercial Brand Plans, Integrated Disease Plans + Open Data Questions process (ODQs) + Scientific educational grant requests + Patient advocacy grant requests + Support/lead execution of Medical Affairs Sponsored Trials and registries (when applicable), within appropriate standards for compliance, quality, timeliness, and budget. + Track priority Medical Affairs tactics and performance to goals/budget 3. Actively engage/interact with key stakeholders, including: + Internal: + WW Medical Affairs Leadership + Marketing + Market Access + HEOR + Clinical Research & Development + Biostatistics + Translational Development + Regulatory Affairs + Project Leadership + External: + Investigators, KOLs + Global Steering Committees + Scientific Advisory Boards + Advocacy groups + Cooperative groups Qualifications & Experience + Advanced degree (MD, PharmD and/or PhD) in life science + Solid experience in medical affairs, clinical and/o translational research in hematology or oncology 4+ years + AML disease knowledge is a plus + Strong interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm and positive under pressure + Excellent communication skills, including presentations to large groups, facilitation of interactive discussions, and 1:1 with TLs. + Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies. + Demonstrated customer focus orientation & credibility + Hard working with a can-do attitude Around the world, we are passionate about making an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases.
