ZS' R&D Excellence Practice brings together experts in Strategy, Clinical Execution, Data Sciences and Technology to empower client organizations achieve their passion for patient care, science and business success. Through our Lifecycle Evidence Strategy, Clinical Trial Optimization, Medical Affairs and Real World Evidence services, we deliver impact where it matters, from early drug development to commercialization. This role will be aligned with ZS R&D Excellence Practice Area supporting our Technology and Platform services across multiple clients.



Have a significant direct client interaction, managing multiple projects simultaneously;
Work with client architects and managers to define big data technology roadmap;
Leverage knowledge of Life Sciences R&D organizations, data and systems, business processes and stakeholder types to aid analyses and recommendations for strategic solution offerings;
Represent R&D business and drive innovation, business case development, user needs assessment workshops and assist in technical solution vision and implementation plan development;
Establish or maintain ongoing client relationships with key business decision makers that drive new business development;
Update senior leaders, prepare and present client presentations
Lead technical feasibility analysis, select the technologies that provide the best solution and identify the products available that will best fit the solution proposed;
Manage and advise the big data needs assessment and requirements gathering process by meeting with stakeholders to define the technology requirements following business user centric design best practices;
Advise on Big Data technology enhancements based on experience/best practices, business knowledge, and gaps in current vs. future state;
Coach the cross-functional project team on the technology perspective and data domain to inform key project decisions;
Design the solution, taking advantage of the existing assets and maintaining a balance between architecture requirements and specific client needs
Research and evangelize the use of the big data technology platform for strategic decision-making;
Identify the new market trends in the industry and lead the effort to develop ZS POV in upcoming technologies;

A bachelor's/master's degree in Computer Science or related field from a top university; MBA is desirable;
Minimum 7-10 years of hands on IT services or consulting work experience
Minimum 5 years of managing large technology teams using standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology;
Minimum 3 years of experience in the development of open source big data components like: Hadoop, Flume, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Pig, HBase;
Programming experience in: Java, Python, R, Pearl, Ruby, Scala;
Have architected and designed 4 end-to-end big data, cloud (Amazon Web Services or other) BI solutions across multiple technology and platforms;
Experience with IT organization design and management principles/techniques (ITIL, ITSM) as well as IT management tools(eg Mercury, PlanView, ProSight, Niku);
Superior verbal and written communication, organization, analytic, planning and leadership skills.
Additional Skills:

High level understanding of one or more Clinical functions like study management, operations, risk based and centralized monitoring strategies and related retrospective, predictive and prospective analytics;
Thorough understanding of the design process, project management principles, client relationship management, and pre-sales activities;
Thorough understanding of client business concerns to oversee translation into technical inputs;
Proven relationship-building and maintaining skills with clients and across functional areas;
Superb verbal and written communication, organization, analytic, planning and leadership skills;
Working knowledge of one or more eClinical systems and data including CTMS, EDC, ePRO, CDMS, IVR, clinical registries and Real World Data (RWD) is preferred.
Working knowledge of one or more data standards like CDISC (ODM, SDTM, ADaM), OMOP and metadata management models like ISO11179 etc. and international regulations including 21CFR Part 11 and HIPAA is a big plus
Understanding of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, clinical submissions and regulatory areas of drug development is a plus.
