Job Description

The Technical Product Ownership group is a fast paced and dynamic group with a charter to lead and drive comprehensive system solutions and reference designs that leverage and showcase Knowles' software, algorithms, DSPs, microphones & transducers. These systems solutions integrate also may require integration of 3rd party hardware and software to target audio-centric use cases in mobile, wearable, IoT, automotive, commercial and/or industrial markets. The candidate must be fearless and willing to dive into any environment to figure out a solution. He or she must possess strong organizational skills, development skills and relevant educational background in software application integration and development on a variety of platforms including mobile, embedded, IoT and desktop. This person will be responsible for organizing and driving the architecture, development, integration, and testing of applications, Real Time audio processing frameworks, operating systems (Linux/Android and RTOSes), audio signal processing algorithms, drivers, and various other solution components. He or she must also be comfortable with working in Embedded audio processing environments in various stages of development and be able to help bring up and work with various Embedded and audio interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, I2S/PCM, TDM and PDM.

Job Responsibilities

. Work with product marketing and other engineering teams to specify and design reference designs and solutions

. Coordinate and lead engineers integrating technology from other Knowles engineering teams along with 3rd party technology into comprehensive system reference designs and solutions

. Work with hardware teams to design and bring up new chips and boards

. Develop audio processing software frameworks, integration code, drivers, applications or any other software required to complete integrated designs to be usable solutions

. Work closely with field and system application engineering teams that are supporting these designs in the field

. Own the quality and completeness of these reference designs and solutions and drive resolution of bugs and issues

Job Skill Requirements

. Strong coding skills in C and C++

. Strong Scripting skills using Python, Perl

. Ability to bring up and configure Linux, Android, or an RTOS in an Embedded environment

. Familiarity with the principles of digital audio signal processing

. Ability to handle, configure, and debug hardware systems

. Ability to pick up an learn any other coding language or development environment

. Source code management experience with GIT and Perforce

. Experience with ARM and various DSP and Microprocessor architectures

. Ability to guide engineering projects through concept, specification/architecture, development, test, release, delivery and support

. Good communication skills, presentation skills and methodical working practices

Education & Work Experience Requirements

. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of work experience; or Master's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of work experience

. Academic course work in Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Architecture and Signal Processing
