JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the execution of all endorsed field engineering service related programs and delivery of lubrication solutions to PES (Planned Engineering Service) and Major Account customers in accordance with Global Business Unit processes and standards within a defined market area. Maintain and grow ExxonMobil lubricants business and directly support and execute the marketing offers. The Lubrication Engineer works under the direction of the Region Chief Engineer, and is a home based position within the sales territory. The position would be located in the greater Minneapolis, MN area.
Primary Job Functions:
  • Flawless implementation of Planned Engineering Service (PES) at nominated key accounts
  • Identify, execute and document ExxonMobil profit improvement opportunities via product upgrades, new product introductions, sale of service and execution of Engineering Service at selected accounts using total cost of ownership (TCO) and Benefit Selling methodologies
  • Generate content to feed creation of proof of performance collateral
  • Lead field root cause analysis/investigation regarding product or equipment performance in order to protect the company against unfounded litigation
  • Act as an engineering, services and technical sales mentor and resource for the field sales force
  • Conduct training for the benefit of sales and technical employees, customers and ExxonMobil Distributors on product knowledge, applications, and services
  • Key interface with Marketing, Research, and Customer Service in support of field trials, marketing and product technical offer development
  • Provide technical, sales, and product integrity support to distributors within assigned territory
Job Requirements:
  • Preferably B. S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • Work in large industrial/off-road environments requiring climbing stairs, ladders and heights
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and possesses excellent administrative and organizational competencies
  • Willing to travel within assigned sales territory; adaptable to various working and living conditions
  • Proven ability to manage short deadlines, emergency situations, extreme remoteness, and cultural differences for travel and work conducted
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Experienced consultative and benefit selling skills
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work in teams with demonstrated coaching and leadership skills
