POSITION SUMMARY:

The NPD Specialist develops tools, theories, skills and knowledge of NPD to improve the practice of staff. The NPD specialist is accountable for generalist competencies as well as specialist competencies. The Scope and Standards of Nursing Professional Development Practice describe key roles and responsibilities for which the NPD Practitioner is accountable. Overall outputs of NPD Specialist practices are learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care and outcomes, population health, and quality and safety practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, MSN required or to be obtained with 3 years of hire.

Required Length and Type of Experience:
5+ years experience in Emergency Nursing strongly preferred, 5+ years of Critical Care would be considered.
Teaching experience preferred.

Required Licensure, Certification or Registry:
Nurse Professional Development certification preferred or obtained within 1 year.
Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
ACLS required; PALS required; TNCC required; TNCC Instructor preferred or willing to obtain within 2 years.
