POSITION: Lead IT Engineer

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide advance technical support for network operations on the combined CenturyLink Autonomous Systems 209(Legacy Qwest/CenturyLink), 3356 (Level3), 3561 (Savvis), 22561(Lightcore) and 3549 (Global Crossing). Monitoring, upgrades, logistics, configuration management and maintenance for the National IP, L2 VPN, L3 VPN, MPLS & DSL network. Use load balancing protocols like VRRP, GLBP and QoS attributes to optimize the network. Perform complex network changes, implement architecture changes and Intercede in customer escalations related to IGP (OSPF, IS-IS), BGP, MPLS-Traffic Engineering (RSVP, LDP), QoS & critical large- scale network disruptions in the IP, IPv6, VPN, DSL network. Work with key vendors and internal lab certification team to provide work-arounds and patches for software bugs and unforeseen hardware or configuration errors.


REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field. Two years related experience as a Network Analyst, Test Lab Engineer, IT Security Assistant Intern, Lab Assistant or related. Two years experience is required and must include some experience in the following: Skills: TCP/IP, ACLs, NAT, IPv4, IS-IS, Spanning Tree protocols, and Multilayer Switching. Two years of experience working with Telecommunications technologies such as MPLS-Traffic Engineering, OSPF, Is-IS-BGP, Load Balancing (VRRP, GLBP), QoS & critical large-scale network disruptions in the IP, IPv6, VPN, DSL network. Device Competencies: Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Alvarion..Employer will accept university experience in lieu of work experience in the job offered or alternate occupation.
