The main function of an IT Analyst - Technical Infrastructure is to provide technical and/or team leadership in the design, installation, configuration, and support of software and hardware to provide for the ingestion of data into the Caterpillar Oil and Gas data infrastructure of customer data and to perform necessary maintenance and issue resolution.

This position is in support of equipment management enterprise solutions that are heavily centered around OSISoft's PI System.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Design, Implement & Support the network architecture to ingest Customer machine data into Caterpillar's PI System that meets both Caterpillar and Customer network security requirements. Data ingestion techniques include:

. Site point connection utilizing PI Interface, Router and cell modem.

. Site point connection utilizing PI Interface, Router and customer network.

. PI to PI

. Non-PI Historians to PI

. PI Cloud Connect

. Emerging solutions available from advancements in IOT.

This position will:

. Specify the necessary hardware, software and network configurations required to execute the architecture design.

. Provide project leadership to execute the connectivity solution.

. Perform implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed or purchased software solutions.

. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems associated with connectivity.

Basic Qualifications:

. 4 year degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, OR 10 years of related field experience.

. Minimum of 6 years of IT experience showing progressive responsibilities.

. Minimum of 4 years of windows server administration experience in a domain environment.

. 2 years of experience working with OSI/PI Historian, Asset Framework, PI OLEDB Enterprise, or PI ACE.

. Experience with OSI/PI Client tools: PI Processbook, PI Data link, PI Vision and/or PI RTWeb Parts.

. Experience with Industrial (as opposed to vehicular) controls and communication protocols (modbus, opc, etc.).

. Familiarity with industry data collection standards (OPC, SCADA, MODBUS, Relational DB, Web Services, ODBC, XML, etc.).

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

. Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

. Expert knowledge of computer hardware, software and its related infrastructure components (ie networks) and/or operating environment identified in the assignment requirements.

. The ability to multitask and set priorities in a continuous changing environment.

. Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time as well as well as being a collaborative team member.

. Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry applications.

. Knowledge of Caterpillar and 3rd party machinery used in the upstream Oil & Gas Industry.

. SQL server administration.

. Hardware familiarity: Gateways such as PL1000E, PLE601 and Monico or exposed by a variety of Industrial Controllers from manufacturers such Allen Bradley, Murphy, Altronic, RedLion, Siemens.

. Planning, supporting, and maintaining other OSIsoft components, such as AF, PI Notifications, RT Webparts, Sharepoint, Processbook, PI Vision, Event Frames and PI Analytics.

. Ability to integrate business process and technology solutions.

. Good knowledge of Data Acquisition and Distributed Control systems and PI Interface.
