The Role

This position is for a Systems/DevOps Engineer with advanced level cloud compute and automation experience. High level experience with Nutanix, AWS, Azure, Ansible or Puppet, and Python or equivalent Scripting language required.

Responsibilities

  • Remote management of large server environments using Scripting or automation systems.
  • Share responsibility for maintaining infrastructure running on AWS and within our datacenters.
  • Architect and maintain governance automation for cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with the IT Service Management System.
  • Assist in training team members on the use of Scripting or automation solutions.
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of infrastructure by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Keeps current with industry best practices and actively analyzes to ensure that we are taking them into account.
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Perform rotational after hours (On-Call) escalation support as scheduled.
  • Provide the root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems.
  • Collaborates with technical and business staff to implement solutions that fit the requirements of the business.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows or Linux systems administration.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • VMware or Nutanix AHV
    • Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) (Optional)
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 - 2019
    • RHEL or CentOS (optional)
    • Ruby, and or Python for Scripting (optional)
    • API Integrations: REST or otherwise.
    • Git, Gitlab or Subversion (optional)
    • ServiceNow Workflows (optional)

Education

  • 4 Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering (Minimum Required)
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (Preferred)

Experience

  • 3 - 5+ Years application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • Advanced level Scripting and automation skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (eg management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
