The Role

The Business Systems Analysts (BSA) in LFG's IT Enterprise Solutions group play a critical leadership role in the design and development of exciting new capabilities on our public and secure websites. Utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, BSA responsibilities include writing complex queries and scripts for development and testing, creating and updating databases, and supporting day-to-day design decisions. BSA's provide guidance and leadership on their teams, collaborating with architects, developers, testers and business leaders to design and implement solutions that are flexible and focused on corporate and line of business strategies.


  • Analyzes project test data needs and provides data from large, complex Oracle and SQL servers.
  • Collaborates effectively with appropriate stakeholders on more complex issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality and risk of assigned projects.
  • Consults and acts as a resource to appropriate internal/external stakeholders to assess and deliver proposed more complex technical solutions which meet business requirements which may integrate process, business rules and business data with technology.
  • Consults and collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders to determine more complex technical specifications from business requirements.
  • Determines and recommends the most appropriate technical response to identified more complex problems, issues and/or defects by assessing impact and prioritization.
  • Determines more complex IT best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
  • Develops more complex technical solution requirements for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Escalates more complex issues/conflicts to management as needed.
  • May develop more complex test plans and perform testing as needed.
  • May update tables as needed.
  • Provides a more complex understanding the business usage of information technology (IT) and helping technology add value to the business.
  • Provides more complex technical research and analysis to support business operations needs and presents findings to management or project leader.
  • Serves as a mentor and shares knowledge with junior team members.
  • Using structured requirements process, clearly articulates, documents and validates more complex technical requirements.


  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)in (Minimum Required)


  • 3 - 5+ Years of experience in business systems analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • 3 - 5+ Years Review and analyze multiple complex data sources and document data elements, data flow, relationships and dependencies. (Required)
  • 3 - 5+ Years Develop and maintain data models and associated metadata to be forward engineered on the respective database platform. (Required)
