The Role

The Agency Business Development and Training Specialist will be responsible for targeted producer activation and proactively seeking business development and sales opportunities with new producers and firms to achieve ABGA sales goals and objectives. In addition, this role will provide training and orientation to ABGA producers and field staff through various platforms including web casts, conference calls, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements business plans to register & activate new producers to grow sales in the ABGA channel.
  • Partners with ABGA offices & LFN Advisor Recruitment to recruit new producers.
  • Delivers the training and business development program for targeted agencies and field offices within the ABGA channel.
  • On occasion, conducts in-field orientation programs to educate and train selected agencies and key office personnel in the sales and services of Lincoln Financial Life and Annuity products.
  • After activation, proactively seeks opportunities to develop sales with onboarded producers.
  • Partners with the External wholesalers & key stakeholders to develop and prioritize training and activation programs for orientations, regional seminars, web casts, and product/marketing program releases.
  • Coordinates the training and activation of new ABGA relationships and acts as point person in the activation process.
  • Educates targeted agencies and staff on methods to navigate and utilize Lincoln's internal resources and key contacts in each respective Lincoln Financial processing areas such as licensing, new business, underwriting and client services.
  • Communicates Lincoln Financial Securities (LFS) value proposition and culture within the marketplace to deepen broker dealer opportunities, where appropriate.
  • Coordinates with business units to ensure all updated information and materials from the business units are properly promoted to our field offices and producers.
  • Acts as liaison with home office departments, such as LFD Wholesalers & Underwriting/New Business to incorporate proactive outreach efforts into orientation programs for new and existing production sources to generate increased sales activity.
  • Develops and maintains a strong understanding of LFG's products, services and operational structure to enhance ability to identify and target sales growth opportunities for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops business on behalf of the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 Required
  • State Life and Health License Required

Experience

  • 1-3+ years of experience Agency sales that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Evaluate trends in data or information.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (eg management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
