The Sr. Control Systems Engineer performs
complex technical work to develop and implement process control solutions,
performs project and process support, executes project management activities,
and provides support for multiple process control systems within a FDA/DEA
regulated environment.
You will:
  • Perform
    basic system support for one or more site process control systems
  • Perform
    daily system administrative activities for one or more site process control
    systems
  • Develop
    process control system requirements and specifications
  • Develop
    and implement process control solutions
  • Lead
    the development of control system commissioning and qualification
    protocols
  • Lead
    the execution of control system commissioning and qualification protocols
  • Develop technology and implementation
    plans for large automation projects
  • Manage and implement large automation
    projects
  • Propose
    recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Ability
    to manage conflicting priorities in multiple projects
  • Ability
    to independently identify activities needed to complete a project
    successfully
  • Ability
    to take independent decisions in absence of direct/functional supervision
  • Identify
    and resolve problems in an innovative and creative manner as they relate
    to plant and site automation
  • Identify
    and implement new automation concepts and technologies to achieve general
    objectives
  • Be a champion of good documentation practices
    in all aspects of work
  • Maintain a strategic knowledge of
    process control solutions and the ability to utilize this knowledge in solving
    problems
  • Teach project management skills as
    applied to automation projects
  • Be an effective team leader for
    automation related topics within a project
  • Coordinate
    project related internal and external resources
  • Optimize usage of internal and
    external resources and develop working relationships with key people
  • Ability to
    manage conflicting priorities of multiple activities and projects
  • Maintain
    frequent information exchange with direct/functional supervisor
  • Participate with management in the
    selection of annual goals and objectives
  • Participate
    in development of plant and site automation master plans
  • Participate
    in the prioritization and selection of projects
  • Carry
    out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and
    guidelines including FDA, EPA, OSHA and DEA. Comply with all company and site
    policies and procedures
  • Follow
    all applicable aspects of the site Environmental Management System as it
    pertains to normal job duties
  • Understand and
    responsibly perform duties with attention to quality, safety and
    environmental matters
  • Successfully
    complete regulatory and job training requirements
  • Must
    be available for overtime work on a scheduled or emergency basis
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor s degree in
    Electrical, Chemical, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline is
    required
  • A minimum of four (4) years of
    experience working with process control systems is required
  • Strong engineering and computerized
    systems aptitude is required
  • DeltaV experience preferred
  • PLC experience preferred
  • FDA regulated GMP manufacturing
    experience preferred
  • Batch chemical manufacturing
    experience preferred
  • S88 batch control experience preferred
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Moore
    APACS, Siemens PCS7 or Rockwell ControlLogix preferred
  • Automation project management
    experience is preferred
  • Ability
    to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 20% of the time is
    required
