Job Description

Position Summary

  • Under the direction of the Controller, responsible for leading, directing, & supporting the forecasting, maintenance, accounting, and analysis of standard costs, and product margins.
  • Responsible for overall C.I.P. tracking and reporting.
  • Responsible for assuring sound accounting methods and controls for: fixed assets, customer tooling (& its timely billing), and ED&D expenses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Standard cost maintenance, includes: monthly cost rolls, PPV analysis, investigating BOM and routing variances, and assurance of maintaining cost tables.
  • Ensure supplier PO price changes are updated in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts
  • Controlling and accounting for billable tooling: includes collection of overdue balances.
  • Identifying and communicating to management: includes any PO errors, or needed changes in accruals.
  • Investigates and details all material-related variances.
  • Maintains Gross Margin Reports on all products.
  • Support, train, and assist other members of the accounting team to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assure Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations are maintained monthly with adequate support for tooling, capital, engineering, and material-cost related supplier liabilities.
  • Assist with all external and internal audit - including the preparation
  • Special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong technical skills in managing, analyzing and reporting on large data sets.
  • Advanced analytic quantitative modeling skills. Familiarity with working on both structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Ability to lead and mentor support staff.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Strong Innovative characteristic - Pro-active in leading the building and improving key business processes that enhance the effectiveness. Generates new ideas, challenges the status quo, and solves problems creatively.

Education/Certification/Licensure : Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field..

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in an automotive manufacturing facility.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and problem resolution skills. Detail oriented with good organizational skills. Ability to interact with people at all levels and departments. Expert with Excel and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
