This position is located within the Division of Technology Office of the Department of Administration. The incumbent will serve as Senior Systems Engineer of the Data Center Infrastructure Services Team and will lead team members in the design, installation, support and maintenance of underlying data center infrastructure. The incumbent will also perform independent analysis, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of complex server technologies and will act as internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Furthermore, the incumbent will assist with project estimation and provide to upper management, regular briefing, presentations and written updates on projects and daily tasks assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science, management information science or related field and six (6) years experience with enterprise information technology architecture, including but not limited to, planning, development, and implementation and governance of technologies and services for an enterprise class service provider; or an Associate degree in computer science, management information science or related field and eight (8) years of experience in enterprise Information technology support, including but not limited to, planning, development, and implementation and governance of technologies and services for an enterprise class service provider. A high school diploma and experience in communications, business administration, computer science, management information science or a related field, with ten (10) years of experience including but not limited to planning, development, and implementation and governance of technologies and services for an enterprise class service provider.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Position may require overnight travel and working evenings and/or weekends. Position may require on-call shifts and call back. Position may require the employee to work from remote locations beyond the standard 37.5 hours/week and could include working nights, weekends, and holidays, either on-site, remotely or a combination of the two. Employee may be required to carry a laptop and cell phone for after-hours contact. Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Department may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring. Failure to produce an official, certified transcript may result in not being hired or termination. Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position, the incumbent may be required to have a state residency and national fingerprint-based record check conducted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. This is in addition to the background check completed by the Department of Administration.
