Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test scripts, according to design specifications.
  • Communicates test results clearly and concisely, including the documentation of defect details.
  • Iterates with team members around analysis, design and development of software systems.
  • Works with lead developer, lead engineer, and senior developers to ensure software development and engineering standards are met.
  • Makes recommendations which yield a more cost effective product and better streamlined work flows while supporting team strategy in development approach.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers.
  • Gathers business and application specific requirements.
  • Reports status and progress to team lead.
  • Ensures all requirements are met as well as maintained within defined project scope, and documented within documentation management system.
  • Contributes to the planning and estimating of testing efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required.
Certifications:
  • ITIL Foundations certification required within 6 months of position start date.
Competencies (Complexity of Work):
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work autonomously and prioritize
  • Demonstrates communications skills to effectively provide and receive information relative to assigned projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using problem-solving skills, explain constructive solutions and demonstrate attention to detail and quality measures.
  • Organizational skills to handle changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Work Experience:
  • 5 years software quality testing experience and quality assurance methodologies, including interpreting user requirements and validating functionality
  • Experience with application development lifecycle
  • Ability to develop test plans and author documentation
  • Experience with web testing and/or native mobile application testing preferred.
  • Experience with Agile development processes including regular sprints, rapid iterations, and frequent user feedback preferred.
  • An additional five years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Physical Requirements:
  • Typical physical demands include manual dexterity sufficient to operate basic office equipment. Occasionally lifts up to 75 pounds.
