POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Business Growth & Development Services will manage a comprehensive, highly active Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) outreach and engagement portfolio in the Greater Cleveland Partnership 8 county service area. The BRE outreach and engagement activities focus on targeted large corporate and middle market businesses and corporations in the GCP service area. The Director will coordinate and manage the Business Growth & Development Services Program activities with the assigned Vice President (as immediate supervisor). Ultimate reporting responsibility will be to the Senior Vice President for Real Estate and Business Development. Candidate will be responsible for conducting at minimum 100 unique site visits to targeted Greater Cleveland companies.

PROGRAM FOCUS: Address the needs of existing Greater Cleveland area businesses using a variety of services including but not limited to - real estate and real estate relocation; workforce and talent development; access to capital (public and private); utility and infrastructure and new market access.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage, coordinate and conduct assigned BRE calls on targeted industry companies in coordination with GCP program team.
  • Organize BRE activities in Greater Cleveland with public and private sector economic development system partners
  • Provide direct services to Greater Cleveland businesses to maintain existing and stimulate new job creation and capital investments in facilities, headquarters and operating plants.
    • Real estate site searches; site availability
    • Workforce and talent development; educational infrastructure
    • Access to, and technical assistance for, financial resource and incentive packaging
    • Energy audits and access to energy programs designed for maximizing efficiencies and consumption
    • Create networking opportunities to connect with local suppliers & customers
    • Advocate on behalf of businesses with local, regional and state public partners
  • Lead research and data analysis activities for business outreach and engagement
  • Maintain comprehensive database information with input to GCP internal CRM system and Salesforce system; utilize data to identify key issues and opportunities
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business; or business-related field
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in business management, business administration and advisory services, client relationship management, economic development, or related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead targeted business outreach and engagement program; experience working with public and private partners a plus.
  • Business client relationship management experience
  • Knowledge of relevant software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Data Base programs, PowerPoint, and other computer programs.
  • Must be able to drive a car to appointments within the multi county service area.
