Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Private Wealth Advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial as a Paraplanner with a specialty in investment planning and securities transactions. A Paraplanner will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about the financial services industry and work with a team of credential professionals and high net worth clients.

Qualified candidates need to demonstrate a working knowledge of investments concepts and investment products, ie mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETF), unit investment trusts (UIT), structured notes, managed accounts and general financial markets.

Annual base compensation of $55,000 contingent upon experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package featuring retirement planning opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to the trading desk for all transactions including, but not limited to, individual equities, mutual funds, ETFs, variable annuities and managed accounts.
  • Support client portfolio investment research, development and analysis.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of the preferred investment providers.
  • Analyze employer sponsored plans and affiliated documents including, but not limited to, 401(k), 403(b), profit sharing, restricted stock, stock options, and deferred compensation.
  • Identify new business opportunities for existing clients via in-service distributions.
  • Provide required compliance documentation and monitor accounts for client account investment guidelines violations, updates and changes.
  • Utilize industry standard tools including Thomson ONE, Morningstar Workstation, Asset Allocation Master, web-based research tools and applications, and other proprietary tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Securities licenses (Series 7, 63 and 65, or 66)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • High ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
