On the Nielsen Retail Team you will work face-to-face with major retail players and use Nielsen solutions to help answer questions such as finding the right assortment and guiding pricing strategies. The Analyst Role

When you join the Nielsen team, you're signing up for an experience that requires flexibility, curiosity, and passion. As an Analyst you will

  • Work closely with your manager to assist in the analysis and preparation of client deliverables and answer client questions
  • Play an active role in both client and internal Nielsen strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop mastery of propriety Nielsen tools and metrics, which you will use to help solve your clients most pressing business questions
  • Simplify data into a compelling story that will be directly presented to clients and used by industry leaders to set strategy
  • Be the voice of the consumer by keeping our clients at the forefront of industry trends
  • Develop a basic working knowledge of sales drivers to help our clients increase revenue

General Skills

  • Strong logic, deductive reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong oral and written communication, organization & client service skills
  • Able to synthesize data & simplify findings
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal & external teams
  • Basic project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive client outcomes

Background and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 0-3 years' experience
  • Preferred industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Consulting, Information, Sales, Analytics
  • Strong analytical aptitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Analyzing large data sets using SAS, SQL, R, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of statistical approaches
