R18384*Overview:*The incumbent will oversee a group of 10-11 infrastructure analysts whose primary function is to support Application Developers with the implementation of technology components into the production environment. The teams responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following: Migrate program code from test to cert to production using industry tools and following change management policies. Ensure that Mainframe Job JCL syntax is error free and follows standards. Maintain complex job scheduling definitions. Create and execute batch certification environments and tests. Create and maintain report definitions. Maintain VPS printer definitions. Provide technical support to various reporting tools and to the Automic scheduling tool.*Primary Responsibilities:*+ Manage and oversee execution of project plans for any scope; ensure adherence to all Department and Technology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements.+ Assign resources and monitor progress of all assignments; ensure completion of schedules.+ Responsible for short and long-term staffing planning.+ Manage application development and support testing efforts, technology infrastructure, project management and other technology domains. May review specifications, preparation and execution of testing; may assist in day-to-day efforts of staff on an exception basis. Serve as subject matter expert in assigned area of responsibility.+ Translate requirements to assist staff in preparing detailed specifications for system enhancements. Recommend designs based on business requirements. Identify issues and concerns.+ Serve as a client liaison to review priorities and manage the overall client queue. Build rapport within the organization. Communicate and develop a professional level of cooperation across the organization.+ Manage efficient operations and effectiveness of areas of responsibility. Recommend new technology, policies or processes to benefit the organization and improve deficiencies. Typically lead technical evaluations of vendor software.+ Ensure assigned team demonstrates a strong understanding of the business environment and needs within the area of responsibility. Understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem.+ Responsible for the job growth and career development of assigned staff members by providing training plans, guidance and sharing knowledge.+ Contribute to the development of a cost center budget.+ Recommend and initiate new policies and procedures that improve performance and effectiveness of the Department.+ Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.+ Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.+ Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.+ Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.+ Complete other related duties as assigned.*Scope of Responsibilities:*Education and Experience*.*Required:*Minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years' technology or systems analysis application development or technology leadership experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' technology or systems analysis application development or technology leadership experienceProficiency with pertinent project management, word processing and spreadsheet applicationsExcellent problem-solving skills to assist in issue resolutionFamiliar with application development software and hardware platformsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrior experience driving project milestones and delivery datesPrior experience recommending and implementing system solutionsProven mentoring and leadership capabilities from a project management perspective*Education and Experience Preferred:*Bachelor's degreeMinimum of 8 years' technology management or large program leadership experienceSubject matter expert in business with knowledge or experience utilizing application/system supportedMastered understanding of applications supported with an advanced knowledge of interfacing/integrated applicationsGood understanding of the Bank's application frameworkPrior experience working in a team environment as well as autonomouslyMastered knowledge and focus of the entire system to work on projects outside of normal business-as-usual (BAU)Understanding of business(es) supported and its' terminology*Location*Amherst, New York, United States of AmericaAt M&T Bank, we understand what's important when you're considering a career.
