Overview of Job Function:
The solutions design groups primary focus is presales. Sales engineers are solutions experts on the entire EdgeVMS portfolio of products. The solutions design group sales engineer will ensure that the Customer Experience is world class, positive and efficient, and a competitive differentiator. This position is responsible for providing remote and onsite technical sales support to members of the Banking & Retail Sales team who work with integrators and end-users interested in purchasing solutions. The BRS SDG team is a key resource in expanding our leadership position in the Fraud and Security markets, and their knowledge and experience is critical our goal to become recognized as the market leader for advanced financial intelligence solutions. The SDG Sales Engineer partners with Regional Sales Managers, Sales Management, our Integrator Partners Sales & Field teams, as well as internal R&D, Product Management and Customer Service teams to achieve success.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Facilitate customer discovery discussions to understand and document business requirements and design requirements necessary for the formulation of optimal solutions.
Deliver onsite advanced solution technical demonstrations to partners, consultants and end users.
Conduct remote technology demonstration webinars with partners, end users and technicians.
Team with sales and our partners in road shows for demonstrations to end users.
Assist with sales proposal and quote reviews for technical accuracy and provide SDG approval.
Deliver sales solution training to our inside and outside sales colleagues on our solutions portfolio.
Implement proof of concept or field pilots on customer sites throughout the presales process.
Trade show planning, communication, setup, demonstrations, teardown, lessons learned reports.
Provid RFP/specification review and technical response; team with outside sales and our partners.
Presales to post sales handoff with supporting documentation and onsite meeting support.
Establish and build relationships with Integrator Partners Sales & Field Resources, and end users by serving as the technical liaison from presales to post-sales.
Document internal and external product enhancement VOC and share with our PMG partners.
Provide product managers competitive intelligence information for strategic planning purposes.
Follow industry technology trends through self-study, formal training and share the knowledge with Verint internal colleagues and appropriate external audiences.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience in a technical presales capacity for design and deployment of networked surveillance solutions.
5 years of experience interfacing with sales organizations and engineering product management.
Exceptional customer facing, individual management, organization, and technical skills.
Works well under pressure, strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly master new technologies.
Demonstrated success and performance in a Matrix team environment.
Excellent written/oral communication skills.
Proven ability to be results-oriented while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations
Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of MS technologies including MS OS, MS SQL, MS tools, VMware, virtualization and storage technology.
Technical experience and competency in enterprise software and system solutions.
Demonstrated proficiency with XP, 2003, 2008, Active Directory and Domain configuration.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and analyze networked environments.
Experience with AWS or other hosting and cloud solutions.
Management of large geographically dispersed partners and end user customer base.
Educational and work experiences most desired: Networked Surveillance Software solutions, CCTV.
North East location Preference for Columbia, MD office, but remote location also considered
