The Primary Care Physician will provide outpatient primary care treatment to Veterans with acute and chronic illness, with emphasis on preventative medicine. Evaluation and assessment of patients followed by evidence-based treatment of patient's health care needs, in a Veteran centric, team-based model of care deliver. Routine coordination and collaboration with specialty care,mental health, and other team members, is considered an essential component of this position in order to ensure optimum patient health and delivery of efficient care. The Primary Care Physician will provide primary care clinical coverage via face to face coverage or virtual medical care for the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Occasional travel may be required to accommodate face to face patient care in the CBOCs. Participates in the education/training of personnel as requested.
