Position Objective:

The Nurse Practitioner will assess patients, formulate, implement and evaluate care to provide comprehensive, safe, satisfying and cost effective advanced oncology nOnursing care for cancer patients in the symptom management and survivorship programs. The care is provided in collaboration with oncology physicians and is provided under the rules regulations, and policies established by the Anne Arundel Health Systems, Medical Staff Bylaws and MD State Board of Nursing, American Nurses Association, American Nurse Credentialing Center, Oncology Nursing Society, and external regulatory bodies

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Assess patients, formulate, implement and evaluate care for oncology patients.
  2. Performs duties in accordance with established routine procedures as set forth by Anne Arundel Health Systems, Medical Staff Bylaws and MD State Board of Nursing, American Nurses Association, American Nurse Credentialing Center, Oncology Nursing Society, and external regulatory bodies.
  1. Maintains current licensure and continuing education credits as required by Maryland State Law.
  2. Communicate and coordinate treatment and progress with multidisciplinary team members.
  3. Refer patients to appropriate level of care as condition or circumstances warrant.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an advanced practice degree
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult, Oncology or Acute Care)
  • Two (2) years of related clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred or extensive cancer experience as an RN.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Current National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult, Oncology or Acute Care)
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification is required.
