The Department of Medicine of the MetroHealth Medical Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine located in Cleveland, Ohio is recruiting for a full-time faculty member with a focus on hematologic malignancies, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapies to support our growing academic mission and clinical practice. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplantation and immune effector cell (CART) therapies.

Our transplant and cellular therapy program consist of an interdisciplinary team including medical oncologists/hematologists, radiation oncologists, hematopathology, nurses, nutritionists, apheresis, and cell processing specialists. The stem cell transplant program will be applying for FACT accreditation in the fall 2023. The essential functions of the position are to provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, longitudinal patient care, teaching and mentoring of internal medicine residents, hematology/oncology fellows, and medical students. Active participation in clinical trials is encouraged. Expected faculty rank is assistant professor or higher. Final rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The Cancer Center is affiliated with the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and fosters excellent working relationships among the multiple cancer subspecialties, as well as with our referring networks. Candidates with a strong interest in conducting clinical/translational research centered on cellular immunotherapy are preferred. The institution is an ECOG-ACRIN member. Additionally, the candidate has an opportunity to lead translational research in immune effector cell therapy in close collaboration with our newly operationalized GMP laboratory.

The qualified applicant for faculty appointment must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree and must be board certified or board-eligible in internal medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for a medical license in Ohio. The candidate must have completed at least one year of clinical experience managing both allogeneic and autologous transplant patients either beyond fellowship training, or in some cases within the context of fellowship if the program or the candidate had a particularly strong focus on transplantation.
