Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Services (Full Time)

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Services to join our team at the Parsippany - 14 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey .

Job Summary

The System Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware and software and related services. The System Engineer will also be responsible for supporting Windows Active Directory Services, virtualization services, and the Office 365 suite of cloud-based services to include email messaging, collaboration, and storage services within multi-platform mission critical environment. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to enterprise organization standards and best practice.

Acting independently or as part of a team, the system Engineer will be responsible for resolving Tier 2-3 trouble tickets using technical support tools and procedures while meeting service level agreement standards. Plan and monitor system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning. This position will report to the Director, Infrastructure Services and will participate in, but not limited to, operational support issues pertaining to on premise enterprise systems and services, as well as, off-premise Office 365 cloud-based services. The Systems Engineer will also be responsible for supporting internal/external DNS/SSL services.


  1. Strong knowledge in Microsoft directory services and Office 365 Cloud Services administration.
  2. Research new technologies and methodologies to ensure that new solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure
  3. Act as a resource for IT projects and work autonomously to implement improvements to existing systems
  4. Possess the ability to own and manage multiple incidents and act as an escalation point for engineering, operation, and applications teams.
  5. Respond to business-critical emergencies both during and after business hours to address outages and service disruptions with a focus on adherence to SLA s
  6. Follow industry best-practices for incident and problem management (ITIL)

Education & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of O365, Directory Services and Windows 2008/2012/2016 operating systems.
  • Strong experience with MS Exchange and messaging services both on premise and cloud-based services.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem management skills, as well as, the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong incident, change, and problem management skills.
  • Strong experience working in a decentralized virtual team environment. Possesses the ability to own and drive communications and coordination of centralized and decentralized teams, external vendors, and service providers.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Familiar with ITIL service management best practices
  • Able to work weekends, shift and On-Call if necessary
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant Microsoft systems administration experience with a background in medium to large-scale enterprise environments
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Infrastructure services: Office 365 Cloud Services, DNS, DHCP, WINS, ADFS, AADSYNC, Active Directory Services, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Experience with PKI Certificates and SSL
  • Experience administering Active Directory in an enterprise class environment with multiple forests
  • Microsoft Certification a plus
