Senior DBA Administrator (Full Time)

Location: Chicago, Illinois Country: United States of America Rate: base $120 - 130k (depends on experience)
 

Prestigious Fortune 500 Company is seeking an experienced DBA to be the next Senior IS Database Administrator on our IS Database Services Team.

As the Senior DBA you will be designing and implementing database solutions that fulfil and support business strategic initiatives and integrate well with server, storage, network and security technologies. You will be specifically responsible for design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and operational support of our portfolio of Oracle and SQL Server databases.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • proven experience working with
    • Oracle Real Application Clusters
    • Automatic Storage Management (RAC/ASM)
    • Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
    • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
    • Oracle Partitioning
    • PL/SQL Scripting
    • Oracle Data Guard
    • Oracle Net
    • longevity working in a Unix environment
    • solid change management skills
    • proficiency supporting mission critical infrastructure in a fast paced environment
    • strong verbal and written facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
    • knowledge and experience to complete all job responsibilities (listed below)

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • solid experience with Oracle Exadata, Virtual Directory (OVD), GoldenGate
  • experience with Microsoft SQL server and/or Hadoop

Responsibilities:

  • plan, design and build high performance database systems
  • collaborate with architect, application and infrastructure teams on implementing customer servicing application releases and infrastructure projects
  • analyze database and system response time and determine tuning recommendations to improve performance
  • effectively identify and resolve issues within scope of work following established resolution process
  • participate in and encourage a knowledge-sharing environment both within and outside the department
