Paramedic (Full Time)

Location: Cuyahoga Falls, OH Country: United States of America
 

Performs a variety of duties to assist the nursing staff in rendering patient care in the Emergency Department within the limits of the State of Ohio certification guidelines. The paramedic will have a team assignment with a registered nurse and will be expected to provide total patient care in coordination with the registered nurse and medical staff. The paramedic will be proficient in documentation of any care provided to the patient.

1.Education and Training
*Successful completion of a course approved by the Ohio State Board of Regents for Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic and certification by the State of Ohio.
*Maintains current certification in BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). (ACLS not required for physician office locations)
*Maintains current certification in PALS through the AHA (or obtained through the AHA within 6 months of hire). (PALS not required for physician office locations).

2.Experience
*One (1) year of field experience (recent, within past five years), as a paramedic in a part time or full time capacity preferred.

3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
*Shows flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and the demands placed on emergency medical services in the pre-hospital and Emergency Department environment.
*Knowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities to include basic hygiene, skin care, feeding, normal vital signs and other general hand-on patient care functions normally attained through one or more years of formal training as a paramedic preferred.
*Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
*Ability to operate radios or other Emergency Department communication equipment.
*Familiarity with paramedic protocols of EMS squads
