AOD Coordinator (Part Time/Temporary/Seasonal)

AOD Coordinator

Beech Brook is currently hiring a part time AOD Coordinator for our PAR (Police Assisted Referral) Program. This position is a part time 20 hour per week position. This position will provide community based services to clients referred by CMHA (Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority) Police Department; along with providing case management and individual/family counseling/therapy interventions as appropriate. Conducts AOD assessments and provides education and counseling/therapy services to PAR clients. The individual selected for this role, must have the ability to engage families by phone and through face-to-face contact. The individual chosen for this position will be comfortable with home visits and have strong engagement skills. This person will need experience providing direct service in an urban setting, preferably two (2) or more years' experience. Master's degree is required. LPC/LSW or higher required; along with CDCA or Higher. Candidate must have a valid OH driver's license with no more than 5 points.


Essential Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

  • Provides training to other PAR team members on the signs, symptoms and early identification of alcohol and other drug use and abuse, and the disease of alcoholism and drug dependency.
  • Experience in providing case management and therapy services to clients and experience conducting AOD assessments and providing relevant AOD services required.
  • Assess and recommend level of treatment for substance abuse clients; Completes diagnostic assessments demonstrating competency in rendering a differential diagnosis.
  • Provides AOD individual and family counseling/therapy interventions as appropriate to the consumer needs and treatment plan goals.
  • Able to provide therapeutic interventions (individual and family) for the consumer by demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth and development, and psychosocial needs of the population.
  • Assists in coordinating individual treatment planning including aftercare and recovery support services for each client actively involved in alcohol and other drug treatment.
  • Expedite referrals for more intensive substance abuse treatment
  • Assists each client receiving drug and alcohol treatment in becoming involved with self-help support groups, if appropriate.
  • Develop linkages with local treatment facilities and facilitate client getting into treatment; Assists each client receiving drug and alcohol treatment in developing and maintaining (sober) social support networks.
  • Provides outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from the service.
  • Provide psycho-education groups and individual sessions on substance abuse and the impact on the family/community
  • Provide consultation to the PAR Team on AOD issues
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Education: Master's degree with LSW, LPC, LISW or LPCC

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with LSW, LPC, LISW or LPCC
  • Chemical Dependency certification
  • Prior AOD Experience
  • Experience working with a diverse client population in an urban setting
  • Ability to work as an effective team player is essential.
