The Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or at least four years related experience
  • Provide Senior Level Unix Systems Server systems setup, administration, configurations, and automated implementations.
  • Help support UNIX environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
  • Oversee planning, design, implementation, operation of Servers, infrastructure projects and participate in the specification of business requirements and implementation plans.
  • Evaluate, implement, and administer highly available infrastructure for Servers and web services. Provide operational support and experience with managing the virtualized infrastructures.
  • Participate in Capacity planning and Disaster Recovery
  • Help define, improve promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices
  • Assist and support all customer and operations in troubleshooting complex multidisciplinary issues
  • Provide infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, system troubleshooting, performance engineering and optimization, maintenance strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and mentorship to internal engineering peers as required and lead technical staff responsibilities.
  • Drive requirements and technical due-diligence and infrastructure design.
  • Secure server systems by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
  • Accomplish information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Acting as focalpoint for UNIX infrastructure design.
  • Providing leadership, advice on Linux and SOLARIS based systems

  • Knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs
  • Project experience, being able to define a WBS and produce an estimation
  • Teamplayer working closely with peers, stakeholders, PMs and operational team, to ensure that the solution leads to business transformation
  • Transition into production, providing architectural and operational documentation, training, handover, aftercare
  • Drive for automation
  • A strong business and customer orientation, with a supporting strategic thinking ability
  • A balanced business and technology savvy and a strong understanding of both applications and infrastructure
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent consulting skills and the ability to recognise opportunities for future transformation.
  • Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise
  • Ability to focus on detail with an understanding of how it impacts the business strategically
  • Experience with large scale infrastructures
  • Advanced Scripting skills at least in bash
  • Experience with Satellite
  • Experience with cfengine and or other tools (chef, puppet, terraform, ansible)
  • RHEL 7 on physical and virtual Servers, Cluster config, HA design
  • Solaris on physical, handling of zones, cluster config, multipathing, zfs is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle RAC is a plus
  • Experience with Kickstart
  • Experience with Cloud is a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD is a plus
  • Very good English is a must
  • Experience in IT production is a must
  • ITIL certification is a plus
  • TOGAF certification is a plus
