Department: Technology

Reports to: Managing Director

Indirect Reports to: Finance Director

Develop, maintain and improve day to day IT Service consisting of configuration, monitoring and support for desktop, application, platforms and network infrastructure to support the operational, administrative, data and security needs of the business.

  • Manage Internal network infrastructure: hardware and software platforms and services
  • Develop, maintain and improve redundancy, availability and disaster recovery plans for IT service
  • Develop an understanding of and manage all line of business systems: MRP, EDP, Orchestrate, Chromeleon and others
  • Manage and develop the Cloud based infrastructure: SharePoint, Exchange & One Drive
  • Office 365 administration, deployment and management
  • Provide day to day IT support covering all IT services, hardware and software to ~135 staff
  • Develop relationships with and effectively manage Suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a current view of the IT industry, available products and services and make recommendations to the executive for their implementation
  • Develop succession, supplier and team plans (as budgets allow) to ensure continuity of IT support service
  • Develop and regularly maintain a good working relationship with stakeholders in other departments
  • Provide regular management updates on monitored areas
  • Deliver the IT aspects of change projects
  • Develop and maintain an IT catalogue of data, software & hardware, with plans for implementation, update, maintenance and decommissioning.
  • Develop and maintain an IT incident log to include all reported IT support and interaction activity
  • Develop and maintain a process catalogue for all IT activity to act as both a help and guidance manual and an audit source
  • Identify, propose to management and implement as required opportunities for improvement based on technology change
  • Research for and contribution to IT planning, policy review and budgeting

  • Desktop management and configuration - Windows clients from XP, Win2k, 7, 8 and 10
  • MS SQL Server management, configuration and some development
  • SharePoint Online management, configuration and some development
  • Exchange Online administration and configuration
  • MS One Drive management & configuration
  • Microsoft Office 365 management, configuration and some development
  • Microsoft Office Word and Excel (including macros and VBA)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
