CAD Draughtsperson

£20,000 per annum, pro rata

Part time

The Drawing Office forms part of the Production Department and provides draughting and model making services to ENO. The CAD Draughtsperson is responsible for drawing up items for shows, working closely with other departments for technical aid and ensuring a smooth process from design to stage. You will work to a schedule agreed by the Head of Drawing. This can be flexible to work around personal commitments and the demands of the shows.

Your duties will include:

  • Oversee the drawing of shows from design concept to first night.
  • Work alongside the Head of Drawing and other members of the drawing office to complete drawings for deadlines set by Head of Drawing.
  • Working with designed and production managers to prepare design drawings from the model, including ground plans, elevations, all scenic elements and specific props, for contractors and makers to work from.
  • Make and repair model elements where appropriate.
  • Collate and distribute technical information as required throughout the technical department and company.
  • To ensure upkeep of filing system for all plans and drawings of live shows.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD draughting both 2D and 3D.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A driven individual who is keen to help build up a department, confident to carry forward processes and provide support to all departments across the organisation.

Due to the nature of the role, the hours will be flexible depending on the demand and commitments from the show.
