My leading financial services client is in the process of going through huge digital technology transformation and needs to make a strategic hire in order to help drive this change. The project is a Greenfield build out of a new Credit Risk management platform. The group is scaling agile across the board, with a key focus of adopting and implementing a DevOps culture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Java 8 and Big Data ecosystems like Apache Kafka or Apache Spark.

The key responsibilities within this role include:

• Designing and executing major architectural and engineering designs on Java and Big Data platform
• Applying core engineering principles to solve business critical problems.
• Define and apply the latest frameworks, technologies and UI experiences for the new platform.
• Work part of an experienced development team and mentor junior developers in best practices.

Skill and Qualifications

• Experience with Big Data tools: Hadoop, Akka, Kafka.
• Experience with one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C++, Scala etc.
• Very strong in Data structure and algorithms, understanding design implementation and core programming ideologies.
