Production Controller (Contract)

Location: Cowes Country: UK Rate: £27.00-£36.00 p/h via umbrella

Production Controller

Working on the Isle of White a Production Controller is required on a 9 month contract basis to work for a major defence client.

Hourly Rate: £27.95 PAYE or £36.34 Umbrella

Overview
  • Achieve the Master Production Schedule and Control Production/Repair Orders in line with the plan through to Completion and to Budget.
  • All activities to be undertaken in accordance with the documents identified within the Process Accountabilities section below.
  • Maintaining system integrity whilst adopting standard processes and ensuring compliance.
  • Keeping the Master Production Schedule in Line with customer requirements.
  • Advising Projects and Manufacturing during pre-production phase on MRP, Structure and Scheduling.

Core Duties
  • Participate in Contract Launch Process, driven by Projects and only held depending on value
  • Achieve the timely release of Production/Repair Orders
  • Use the MES to view Production/Repair Orders
  • Review and action MRP Error Exceptions Messages and data hygiene reports
  • Support Production Reviews
  • Support the Engineering Change Process and Non-Conformance process
  • Create outbound delivery documentation ensuring compliance through the GTS System or for non Sales Order deliveries manual TRF.
  • Understand the interface with the Warehouse Management System
  • Interface with other teams/organisations to provide a seamless service
  • Provide advice and data to optimise the overall support solution
  • Provide a flexible approach to enable support throughout the Logistics function to meet business requirements
  • Review and propose Master Production Schedule Changes - This will involve liaison with Key functions within the Business, Projects, Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing

Skills & Experience
  • Awareness of ISO 9001/EN9100 standards
  • Good understanding of own discipline and end to end requirements within Quality Inspection
  • Understand how their own role and team fit into overall objectives of the function
  • Knowledge of product safety requirements
  • Export requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (where applicable)
  • Knowledge of the Programme Inspection and Test Plan and how it is implemented
  • NC or HNC qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experience: Time served in trade discipline
