Does getting the chance to perform rail analysis across a wide breadth of our organization, from our multiple refineries, pipelines groups, right out to our Petro-Canada gas stations sound exciting to you? If so, we want to hear from you! You will get the opportunity to work with data and people across a large network at Suncor, and gain great exposure at all levels.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Keep abreast on the light oils, chemicals, liquid petroleum gas, crude, sulphur, and petroleum coke transportation industry and market
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and service providers
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing and logistics plans
  • Perform cross-training with rail operations
  • Perform long-range-planning and budget reporting
  • Design payable processes for each stream of rail business
  • Manage all accounts payable concerns, including troubleshooting system issues, vendor inquiries, arranging for exception payment handling, etc.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Two years of related professional experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including building pivot tables and using V-lookups
  • The ability to summarize data, extract and present a concise message for discussion purposes, and understand the qualitative, quantitative and business frameworks
  • A high-level of curiosity and approach your work with a continuous improvement mindset
  • A self-start attitude and enjoy operating in a team-based, customer focused environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills and apply a high attention to detail
  • Alignment with our values : safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Previous budgeting experience
  • Third party vendor experience

Where you'll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 - 6th Ave S.W. or from one of our hub locations (Mississauga, Edmonton, Sarnia, Montreal, Fort McMurray etc.)
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
