The Role
The role will be accountable to achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support activities, manage workflow and resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes as well as contribute valuably to workforce and financial planning within an integrated workforce.

As the JHU-NQ Administration Officer, the successful candidate will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement across a large geographically-dispersed region. The candidate will be expected to have the flexibility to travel between Townsville and Cairns to visit Health Centres and solve complex or difficult issues. They will be required to work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships and provide constructive feedback to management staff. They will be expected to take the initiative to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will also be supported in ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a confident administration officer with positive verbal/written communication skills who can engage with various stakeholders to ensure high quality corporate governance. They are expected to monitor and manage contract administration, performance and risks against the ADF Health Services Contract. They should contribute to appropriate action, initiating and recommending mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with mandatory requirements. They must be able to engage and negotiate with a complex ADF, APS and contracted health professional workforce, respond to complex HR enquiries/contract management issues, and identify alternative courses of action.

The successful candidate should be able to proactively resolve issues through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications. They should have the requisite IT data extraction skills and policy understanding to collect, collate, analyse and report relevant data and communicate the short, medium and long term implications for the workforce. As a designated supervisor, they should be capable of holding others accountable for their work performance and be willing to share expertise, guide and mentor less experienced employees.
