Data Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Vienna Country: Austria Rate: Euros 50k - 70k per annum

We are looking for data engineers who enjoy solving hard problems, who think for on their feet and are obsessed with helping accomplish important missions while growing themselves in the process.

You Will...

oWork within the Foundation engineering team alongside other Data Engineers, in architecting and supporting new and existing data and ETL pipelines and recommend improvements and modifications.
oYou will use your expertise in event driven architectures to build Real Time or near-Real Time data pipelines
oDevelop monitoring systems to ensure the data platform is behaving as expected and alerting us when it is not.
oConstantly look for, identify and analyze performance bottlenecks in the data layer (such as slow queries or process inefficiencies), helping other engineers debug issues with data pipelines.
oBuild the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
oProvide support for various engineering teams working on data synchronization with multiple microservices

You Have...

oGood communication skills. We communicate all day long.

oA tendency to go above and beyond, always looking for ways to improve things around you. You thrive in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments.
oExperience building a scalable data platform within a microservice architecture.
oProven experience in implementation and maintenance of event driven architectures
oMinimum of 3 years of experience with at least one of the following technologies in the context of event driven architectures: Apache Kafka, Rabbit MQ, Apache NiFi, Amazon Kinesis
oFluency in SQL and proven development experience (ideally Python or similar languages)
oHands-on experience with AWS and services like EC2, SQS, SNS, Redshift, RDS, Cache etc.
oA can-do attitude: no problem is too daunting for you to tackle.

oBackend: PHP (Symfony and Laravel as frameworks), Golang, Python and NodeJS/TypeScript lambda-functions, and Java (for E2E testing)
oData Stores: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Redshift
oContainers: Docker
oAutomation: Ansible, Terraform
oDeployment: Jenkins, BitBucket pipelines
oHosting: AWS (EC2, ECS, IAM, S3, SQS, Redshift, Lambda, etc.)
