Job Description
This position is responsible for providing a centralized point of focus for maintaining and improving operational performance of DC based automation. Working with the Distribution Center management team, Facilities, IT and external service providers drive improved processing methods and work flow efficiencies. Accountabilities: Responsible for ensuring maximum uptime for DC based automated systems (Eurosorter, Carousels etc.); Provides operational oversight and timely coordination of resources to ensure the timely resolution of issue minimizing downtime; Maintain and update corporate Business Contingency Plans for DC operations supported through automation; Responsible for coordinating activities and key business decision regarding the implementation of operational contingency plans as needed; Developing and executing proactive maintenance strategies to ensure system uptime; Managing relationship with vendors (internal and external) providing on-going support: Parts, PM scheduling, software upgrades, etc; Completion of root cause assessments and the implementation of corrective actions minimize equipments issues; Maintain historical documentation of equipment performance, trouble logs, issue resolution and corrective actions taken over time; Perform methods analysis to determine throughput capabilities and productivity barriers; Facilitate process improvement teams to help develop more effective way to processing merchandise increasing capacity, reducing work-in-process and improving operational efficiency; Audit operational processes to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, report discrepancies and validate corrections.
Qualifications: B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering; Must have 4+ years of cross-functional leadership experience, which includes warehouse management, process improvement, process layouts and workstation design; Project management experience from concept origination through implementation; Solid understanding of warehouse management systems (experience in systems conversion and implementation preferred.); Knowledge of material handling systems is required; Strong interaction skills from team member level to executive audiences; Strong analytical skills.
