CareerBoard Lends Helping Hand – and Technology – to Seniors Association
CareerBoard technology enables Columbus’s Employment for Seniors to add
career center to Web site.
Cleveland – Employment for Seniors and CareerBoard have partnered to provide an online career center for seniors in central Ohio.
Employment for Seniors, a Columbus-area organization dedicated to placing local seniors into local jobs, has recently added job listings to their Web site, www.employseniors.org. CareerBoard provides the back-end technology allowing them to do so. The service is free to job seekers and employers.
“This is an exciting step forward in our attempt to market mature workers in central Ohio,” said Chuck Jenkins, executive director of Employment for Seniors. “We are already getting contacted by seniors who have never heard of us before.”
By utilizing CareerBoard’s technology, Employment for Seniors is able to post jobs via an online account. Jobs are instantly posted to the Employment for Seniors Web site, as well as the CareerBoard network of sites throughout central Ohio, such as ColumbusWired.net.
"The success of CareerBoard is dependent upon bringing local job seekers together with local employers and empowering local communities as a result," said Peter Tuttle, president of CareerBoard. “The opportunity to give Employment for Seniors a better way to help seniors in central Ohio gain employment was a no-brainer for us.”
Headquartered in Cleveland, CareerBoard is a network of online job sites that exclusively features local jobs for local talent. Established in 1997, CareerBoard.com is the largest Internet recruitment site in Ohio. The company currently serves northeast and northwest Ohio, as well as central and southwest Ohio. CareerBoard was named "Best Worldwide Website" by the Cleveland-Area Knowledge Industry (CAKI) for 2002. For additional information, visit CareerBoard.com, or call 877-619-JOBS.
Employment for Seniors is a resource offering a virtually untapped source of capable, willing, reliable and personally screened people who possess a wide variety of skills and experience, and who are over the age of 50 and are seeking employment in the Central Ohio area. It is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1972. The services of EFS are free to both seniors and employers.
