In this pivotal role, you will have the freedom to apply your expertise in analog electronics engineering to plan, lead, and execute design tasks with a high degree of independence. As a Senior Analog Electronics Engineer, you will:
- Be recognised as an expert in the field of analog electronics
- Independently formulate technically innovative ideas and approaches
- Advise and coach less senior engineers, reviewing work for technical accuracy and adequacy
- Plan and execute work packages, either individually or as a work package owner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and oversee work with development partners
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Strong expertise in analog design, including low noise amplifiers, op-amp selection, loop stability, discrete transistor circuits, power amplifiers, and filter design
- Experience with switch mode power supplies, focusing on low noise/EMI, high efficiency, and low power
- Proficiency in measurement and testing using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, vector network analysers, and thermal cameras
- Knowledge of EMC, radio, and safety regulations (eg, EN 300220, EN61000, EN55011, EN55022)
- Extensive experience in product development and schematic capture & circuit simulation
Additional advantageous skills include:
- Processor interfacing (USB, I2C, SPI, RS232/485)
- Digital Signal Processing and mathematical modelling
- Understanding of ADC/DAC types, usage, and design
- Experience with battery-powered devices and chargers
- PCB layout skills and the ability to lead technical teams
Qualifications:
- BSc, BEng, or HND (or equivalent) in analog electronics engineering or a related field
- MSc, CEng, MIET (or equivalent) is preferred
